In this role, you’ll support both shipping/receiving operations and quality inspection activities to help ensure products are processed accurately, safely, and to customer specifications. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys a hands-on manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
Shipping & Receiving Responsibilities
- Verify incoming parts and quantities against vendor packing lists
- Note and report missing or damaged cartons on packing slips or bills of lading and notify management of discrepancies
- Operate forklift to load and unload trucks
- Ensure all shipping documentation (packing lists, bills of lading, certifications, etc.) is complete and sent with shipments
- Schedule freight pick-ups as needed
- Receive and prepare shipments using ERP and UPS software
- Stage incoming material at appropriate process locations
- Maintain weekly supply inventory
Quality Technician Responsibilities
- Inspect all materials and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and customer expectations
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections
- Interpret various work instructions, technical procedures, and inspection criteria
- Document inspection results, test data, and product disposition
- Support internal audits and corrective/preventive actions
- Perform quality evaluations including surface finish inspections and borescope inspections.
- Provide technical support to production teams regarding product quality
- Obtain VTII Certification (training provided)
Tools & Technology
- Inspection tools including profilometers, borescopes and chemical test kits including calibration and maintenance of quality tools as needed
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system
- Adobe PDF software
- UPS shipping software and forklift operation equipment
What You’ll Need
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two-year degree, trade school certification, or equivalent related work experience preferred
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving, quality inspection, or manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong math, measurement, and blueprint reading skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and digital documentation
- Ability to safely operate a forklift (training provided if needed)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with multiple departments
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. with frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of fine motor skills
- Proper use of PPE as safety is a top priority
