Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for primary care of current customers including quoting and customer service. The role is responsible for maintaining up-to-date customer information in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) computer system including customer master files and customer contact records. This position will also gather and record market intelligence from daily interactions with customers and from follow-up activities on open quotes in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

Essential Duties:

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain close communication with existing customers to achieve a successful business partnership through excellent and thorough customer service for any issues raised by the customer
  • Generate quotes using methodology and procedure provided by management
  • Record market intelligence in the CRM system regarding market price, competitive activities, and general industry information for team knowledge and management review
  • Actively follow-up on open quotes over $1,000 and enter the feedback into the CRM system for management review
  • Working from the hand-off of Territory Sales, gather appropriate documents and setup new customers in the ERP system
  • Maintain customer master file and customer contacts in the ERP system ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date
  • Ensure all customer purchase orders are submitted to Production Scheduling for processing

Tools and Technology Skills:

  • Regular use of computer, scanner, copier, fax and telephone. Proficient in Microsoft Office software (primarily Excel, Word and Outlook), Adobe, and other related sales software. Ability to learn and effectively utilize ERP software including CRM.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related customer service experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical information including drawings. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or issues with excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills. Ability to communicate clearly in English both written and verbal business correspondence. Ability to effectively respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, team members and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions, percentages, surface area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to practical situations.

Expected Hours of Work:

Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Work schedule may have extended hours and/or perform weekend work when the need arises. Work schedule may have a temporary, alternative arrangement or shift as requested by supervisor.
